BIKE RIDE COURSE MAPS
NEW THIS YEAR: "Spirit of Survivorship" Century
An experienced cyclists' dream, this century has it all: long, steep climbs, breathtaking descents, rolling hills, stretches of flat countryside, and unmatched support! It will follow the same route as the Metric Century for the first 50 miles, then depart on a 40-mile loop through Bedford County, and return to finish the Metric route. At over 10,000 feet of climbing, this route is recommended for the advanced cyclist only. You should be able to sustain at least a 14-mph pace over the course of the route.
"Thunder Ridge" Metric Century
This 63-mile route is a very challenging course, peppered with moderate to steep short hills, and one 13-mile climb, of 6-8% grade, to the summit of the Blue Ridge Parkway, followed by a long, challenging descent. It is recommended that you are an advanced cyclist.
Forty miles of moderate rolling hills, this route takes you by pastoral farmland, on quiet country roads with little traffic. This ride is recommended for an intermediate cyclist.
"Family Ride" 20 Miler
For the beginner to intermediate cyclist, this shorter distance ride is a perfect way to practice your newly acquired skills. Pedal by horses and hay fields on rolling country roads with just enough hills to know you've earned your post-ride celebration.
